SNV Stamping Solutions Pvt Ltd manufactures stator and rotor laminations for pump motors, submersible motors, induction motors, armatures (starter motors, power tools, universal motors), industrial motors and drone motors. All parts are stamped to your drawing on a 220-ton high-speed press at our ISO 9001:2015 certified plant in Bengaluru and dispatched across India.
Pump and submersible motor stators and rotors
Pump motors, including submersible, monoblock, openwell and solar pump motors, are mostly induction motors with a wound stator and a squirrel-cage rotor. The pump motor stator lamination needs clean, consistent slots so the winding goes in without damage, and the pump motor rotor lamination needs accurate slots for the aluminium die-cast cage (we supply the rotor lamination stack; die-casting is done by your caster). For submersible pump stators, which are long and thin, stack straightness and stacking factor matter more than in any other motor. For solar pump motors, which are increasingly BLDC, thinner, lower-loss steel keeps the motor efficient at the low voltages solar panels supply.
- Submersible motor stator and rotor laminations, 3 inch to 8 inch frames
- Monoblock and openwell pump motor laminations
- Solar pump BLDC stator and rotor laminations
- Stator cores supplied loose, interlocked or welded; rotor stacks ready for die-casting
Induction motor stator and rotor laminations
For single-phase and three-phase induction motors we stamp stator laminations with semi-closed or open slots and squirrel cage rotor laminations with straight or skewed slots. Skewing can be done in the die so the rotor stack comes out ready for casting. Typical grades are 50C600 to 50C1300 (M36 to M47) in 0.5 mm, with lower-loss grades for IE3 and IE4 efficiency motors.
Armature laminations
An armature is the wound rotor of a DC or universal motor. We stamp armature laminations for automobile starter motors (including the 52 mm diameter starter armature used in popular Indian car models, for which we already hold tooling), power tool motors, mixer grinder and wet grinder universal motors, and small DC motors. Armature slots are small and many, so burr control and slot-to-slot consistency decide how easily the armature winds and how well it balances.
- Starter motor armature laminations (PMDC starter motors)
- Power tool armature laminations (drills, grinders, cutters)
- Universal motor armature and field laminations for kitchen appliances
- DC motor armature laminations for door motors, wiper motors and small actuators
Industrial, robotics and drone motor laminations
For industrial motors, servo motors and robotics motors we stamp PMSM and BLDC stator and rotor laminations in thin-gauge, low-loss steel. For drone motors and UAV motors, which are small outer-rotor BLDC motors running at very high speed, we stamp thin 0.2 mm to 0.35 mm stator laminations with fine tooth profiles; see our drone motor lamination page for details.
The problem
Pump and armature motors are made in large numbers at tight prices. Motor makers often buy laminations from the cheapest press shop and find that the stator slots vary from lot to lot, rotor stacks are not straight enough for casting, and armatures do not balance. The saving on the lamination is lost many times over on the winding and assembly line.
Root causes
- Worn dies left running because burr is not measured.
- Stacks made by hand, so height and straightness vary.
- Material changed from lot to lot without telling the customer.
- No first-off sample approved before the lot runs.
How we solve each one
- Burr checked and recorded on every lot; dies resharpened on schedule.
- Stacks interlocked in the die or welded on a fixture.
- Material grade and mill certificate stated on every lot report; no silent changes.
- First-off sample signed by you before production, every time.
Frequently asked questions
Do you manufacture pump motor stators and rotors?
Yes. We stamp stator and rotor laminations for submersible, monoblock, openwell and solar pump motors and supply them loose, as interlocked or welded stator cores, and as rotor stacks ready for die-casting.
Do you do rotor die-casting?
No. We supply the rotor lamination stack; the aluminium die-casting is done by your caster or ours on request through a partner.
Can you make armature laminations for starter motors?
Yes. We already hold tooling for a 52 mm starter motor armature lamination and can tool up for other sizes.
Which steel do you use for induction motor laminations?
CRNO silicon steel, typically 50C600 to 50C1300 (M36 to M47) in 0.5 mm, and lower-loss grades for high-efficiency motors. CRCA for low-cost appliance motors where the customer specifies it.
Do you make drone motor stators?
Yes. Thin-gauge outer-rotor BLDC stator laminations for drone and UAV motors. See the drone motor lamination page.
